Aaron Freeman, Ween's lead singer, also known as Gener, Gene Ween, and Papa Gene was born in Philadelphia, PA and is co-founder of the band. In 2012 he released Marvelous Clouds, his first solo album. Around this time Gener stopped using the name Gene Ween and performed under his birth name Aaron Freeman. He currently tours with his band Freeman and teaches guitar at the Academy of Rock in Woodstock, New York.
Fun Facts!
Gener worked at a local fast-food joint, El Taco Loco before Ween.
He once said in an interview with Now magazine "All that jam band shit makes me want to puke."
Aaron is a big Notorious B.I.G. fan and does an imitation of him that cracks people up.
Gener's collapsed lung inspired him to write "Mister, would you please help my pony."
